WILSON SATELLITE CLASS at WINDY RIDGE SCHOOL 

 

Non Mobile Students –Primary Satellite Class

·         Students receive an adapted educational programme to meet their cognitive and social needs
·         Individual, small group and whole class sessions to support learning goals
·         Integrated educational and therapy programmes
·         Exploration of assistive technology to enhance communication and learning opportunities
·         Opportunity to be involved in school wide events at the host school.
·         Opportunity for social integration at morning tea and lunch with host school.
 

 LEARNING SUPPORT SATELLITE CLASS also at WINDY RIDGE SCHOOL

Aim

To support students between Year 3 - 5 with identified learning needs to strive towards making effective changes with educational and personal goals.

·         Support to develop skills required to attend to and complete tasks

·         Individual, small group and whole class sessions to support learning goals

·         Students are enrolled with Wilson School for a 4 day per week intensive programme.   Students return to their mainstream schools on Friday to continue social integration with own peers and connections with their community

 

 WILSON SATELLITE at ALBANY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

 

   Years 7 to 10 Satellite Class

·         Support to develop skills required to attend to and complete tasks
·         Develop student confidence about their potential as a learner and valuing their own efforts.
·         Individual, small group and whole class sessions to support learning goals
·         Integrated educational and therapy programmes

Adapted class programme to meet individual needs
Assistance for students who require specific support in communication skills
Work towards interacting more successfully and confidently with class peers and school community.
Students have the opportunity to be involved in a mainstream setting. With support from Wilson School staff they may access mainstream classes to support learning across a variety of curriculum areas including music, drama, art, technology and core subjects.
