Assistant Principal – Wilson School

Permanent | Senior Leadership | Fully Released

Wilson School is seeking an experienced, collaborative and compassionate leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Principal. This fully released role offers a meaningful opportunity to lead people, grow capability, and contribute to a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Working closely with the principal and the leadership team, the Assistant Principal plays a key role in supporting staff wellbeing, strengthening professional practice, and ensuring teachers feel supported, confident, and empowered to perform at their best. This position is ideally suited to a leader who values relational trust, clarity, and working alongside others to grow confidence and collective impact.

About the role

The Assistant Principal will:

Lead and support staff through coaching, feedback, and professional growth processes
Build strong, respectful relationships with teachers, teacher aides, therapists, students and whānau
Support curriculum design, personalised learning, and inclusive practice, with a focus on building teacher capability and confidence
Contribute to strategic leadership and the effective day‑to‑day operation of the school
Promote wellbeing, health and safety, and positive learning environments

We are looking for a leader who:

Communicates clearly and calmly in complex situations
Is solution‑focused, resilient and future‑oriented
Brings strong curriculum knowledge in service of growing others and strengthening professional practice

Experience in special education or inclusive settings is an advantage, but more important is a genuine commitment to people‑centred leadership.

Teacher Aides – Permanent & Relief Positions Available (Term time Only)

We are looking for caring and committed Teacher Aides to support our students. Preferably, the right candidate will have experience in a classroom, healthcare or support role. We are looking for someone who is patient, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The role involves supporting students with diverse learning and physical needs.
